Fushimi Inari shrine & Kiyomizu-dera

13 miles of walking today…

Fushimi Inari shrine of the fox

They had sticks to write a prayer on and suggested wishes

We wrote the prayer for a child

This is when a Chinese woman standing nearby commented on my writing so we started chatting.  My Chinese is a little rusty but still there! She took this picture of us

I joked after that we might get twins since we submitted two prayers

Lots of visitors to this shrine

Orange torii gates along the path to Mt Inari. We reached the summit. So many steps up

Food stalls

We walked part of the Kyoto trail. Turns out our wifi didn’t charge the night before which we only realized as we were hiking. So we relied on this screenshot and Tom’s navigation skills

Scenes along the way. Walked through neighborhoods

Someone selling orange marmalade and a picnic at the park

And then we made it to the next site. a buddhist temple surrounded by trees

More to come… heading out for our day trip to Nara
